Arizona's oldest continously inhabited silver
mining community has 2 all town yard sales; usually the first Saturday of May &
October. There is a bake sale & one of the gunfighter groups performs at high
noon on the yard sale day.
There is also the St. Patrick's day (usually the Saturday before the actual day)
& Old Miner's Day celebrations (usually the last Saturday in June). with a parade,
both Gunfighting groups perform, a raffle drawing, and swap-meeters and vendors
are here. Usually all the town businesses are open.
If you're looking for jewelry, antiques, collectibles, western art or Arizona-made
goodies, you'll find it in Chloride.
For history buffs, we recommend visiting the Chloride Historical Society's Jim Fritz
Museum in Cyanide Springs. Another must stop is the old jail on Merrimac Avenue.
If you have a high clearance vehicle (SUV or pickup) you might want to check out
the Roy Purcell murals just a short drive east of town.
Needless to say, photo opportunites abound in Chloride and the general area.
